Meridiam has appointed Anja van Niersen as new Chairman of the Allego Board. She will replace Sandra Lagumina, who has been chairing the Board since 2018.

Arnhem, 12 December 2019 – As Allego is entering a next phase of growth, the company has decided on a dual focus on external growth and strategy. In her new role, Anja van Niersen will strategically support the European roll-out of the Allego Group and identify new business opportunities and partnerships.

Meridiam has appointed Mr. Mathieu Bonnet as Allego’s new Chief Executive Officer. Mathieu Bonnet has a broad and solid operational and change management experience in the energy sector. He was Chief Executive Officer of Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR) in France, the second biggest hydro company in France with 3000 MW hydro power plants, where he developed the transformation of the company into a global renewable company. He also founded E6, a European energy management platform for renewable energy from wind, PV and hydro.

Anja van Niersen: “For the past seven years I have had the pleasure to create and shape the Allego organization together with a highly devoted and competent team, to become one of the leading providers of charging solutions in Europe. The market of electric mobility is developing faster than ever before. In order to ensure the strong position Allego currently has, I will be focusing on expanding the growth of the company from a Board perspective. Without the responsibility for the day-to-day operational business, I will be given a better opportunity to work closely with the management of the company to identify international business opportunities and developing the organization in line with its strategy and the pace of the market.”
Julien Touati, Partner and head of energy transition activities at Meridiam and director of the Allego Board: ”We are pleased that Anja accepted our request to guide Allego into its next phase as Chairman of the Allego Board. Her experience, vision and leading role will not only benefit Allego, but she will also be more available to connect the EV market developments to other domains of the energy transition. We are looking forward to working with her and the operational management of the company to achieve Allego’s ambition to be the European leader in EV charging infrastructure.”
