Allego will offer 8 (ultra-) fast charging points. In addition to these ultra-fast charging solutions, the Zollverein site will also offer 4 charging points to visitors aiming to stay a bit longer. The new charging park will be part of the pan-European MEGA-E (Metropolitan Greater Areas Electrified) project.

Enjoy yourself while charging

The Unesco World Heritage site Zollverein offers a lot of fun while charging. Numerous restaurants and sight seeing spots are around. You can take a walk, enjoy the industrial monument and recharge or even take a dive in the swimming pool to cool off during summers.

The site will also provide 100% green electricity, making a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Siite the Zollverein Foundation even more sustainable.

Transformation of an entire region

Ulf Schulte, Managing Director of Allego, explains that actually two worlds come together: “Thanks to HPC technology and contactless payment, charging your electric vehicle is similar to what people know from conventional refueling. The Zollverein coal mine and coking plant represents the transformation of an entire region. Now you can also experience the change in mobility here – the charging infrastructure is the key success factor for people to switch to electric vehicles.”
